Medicine is a long degree with increasing commitments, and it’s not always possible for medical students to do paid work alongside their studies.
“The scholarship aims to provide a helping hand to those students most in need of financial support, enabling them to keep studying and realise their dreams of becoming a doctor,” Dr Dilip Dhupelia, AMA Queensland Foundation Chair said.
In 2024, the Foundation was able to award scholarships to three medical students, with an additional student funded by the Indian Medical Association of Queensland (IMAQ) under the Sponsor one Student (SoS) initiative.
