AMA Queensland Foundation Medical Student Scholarships
The AMA Queensland Foundation is committed to helping Queenslanders in need. Since 2004, the Foundation has provided over $535 000 in financial assistance to 34 medical students suffering financial hardship while studying in Queensland.
Scholarships are offered to assist financially disadvantaged medical students to study the MBBS course or equivalent at a university in Queensland.

One-off award of $10,000 paid in two equal instalments.

Free AMA Queensland student membership for the duration of the degree.

All applicants are eligible to reapply in subsequent years.

Three scholarships were awarded for 2024, plus an additional Sponsor one Student recipient.
Key dates
Applications open 13 January 2025 and close 31 March 2025. Applications received after 5pm (AEST) on 31 March cannot be considered.
Eligibility requirements
Applications will be considered from students who are:
- Studying an MBBS course or equivalent at a university in Queensland as a full-time student,
- Holding a GPA of 4.0 or above.
- An Australian Citizen, New Zealand citizen or Australian permanent visa holder.
- Able to demonstrate financial disadvantage.
How to apply
- Complete the online application form.
- Collate your supporting documentation and get it CERTIFIED by a Justice of the Peace or other authorised person.
- Email your supporting documentation to [email protected]
Submit your full application and email supporting documentation before 5pm (AEST) Monday 31 March 2025.
